Finishing a stalled website: your questions
Can someone finish my Wix (or Squarespace, GoDaddy) website?
Yes, by rebuilding it. Builder sites run on the builder's own technology and can't be exported to another host (Wix says this in its own help centre), so we don't log in and patch your template. We take what you made, the text, photos, logo, page list and the ideas behind it, and build a custom site you own. If you'd rather stay on your builder, we're not the right fit, and that's fine.
Can you use the content and photos I already have?
Yes. Send your builder link, a few screenshots, or just the text and photos. Anything that's missing, we write or source, so the site still ships.
Will I lose my domain?
No. Your domain stays yours. We handle the domain mapping as part of the build, whether it's registered with your builder or with a registrar. If it's registered with the builder, keep that registration renewed; your website plan and your domain are usually billed separately.
What happens to my existing site while you build?
Nothing. It stays exactly as it is until your new site is approved. Then we switch your domain over to the new one.
Should I cancel my website-builder subscription?
Not until the new site is live and your domain points to it. Then check what else that plan covers, like email, an online store or the domain registration itself, before you cancel, so nothing you still use goes with it.
Do I need to have everything ready first?
No. One short form and whatever you already have. A half-built site is more than most people send us.
How much does it cost, and when does it cost more?
A flat $499, one time: CAD 499 plus applicable tax in Canada, USD 499 in the US. We build anything our standard hosting can run. Large online stores, member logins, back-office integrations or custom web apps are quoted separately before you pay.
How fast is it, and what if I don't like the first version?
The first version is delivered within 72 hours of your project being Ready to Build (payment confirmed and we have what we need). You review it and send one consolidated list of changes, we make them, then launch. If we miss the 72 hours, you get your money back.
