How to get your business found in AI search
More people now ask AI assistants directly — "find me a good dentist nearby" — instead of scrolling search results. Showing up in those answers rests on the same structural groundwork as local SEO, applied deliberately: structured data, consistent business info, and real reviews.
The checklist
- Add schema.org / JSON-LD structured data to your website describing your business, services, and location in a format machines can parse directly
- Make sure your name, address, and phone number are identical everywhere you appear online — inconsistency actively confuses AI systems the same way it confuses search engines
- Publish an llms.txt file summarizing what your business does in plain text, aimed at AI crawlers
- Keep your Google Business Profile complete and current — AI answers frequently draw on the same data search does
- Collect genuine reviews consistently — AI systems weigh trust signals the same way people do
Why entity consistency matters more here than in traditional SEO
Search engines have decades of experience disambiguating messy, inconsistent business data. AI systems synthesizing an answer from scattered, conflicting sources are more likely to simply skip a business whose information doesn't line up cleanly — there's no ranked list to fall back into, just an answer that either includes you or doesn't.
What this doesn't guarantee
None of this guarantees a specific AI product mentions a specific business in a specific answer — the models are opaque and change often. What it does is remove the structural reasons a business would be skipped, which is the same honest framing that applies to SEO: build the foundation well, and results compound over time rather than overnight.

What's a Google Business Profile and do I need one?
It's your free Google Maps / "near me" listing. For local businesses it's one of the most valuable things you can have — we can set it up and optionally manage it so it stays active and answers reviews.
